Another successful evening was had last night at the Friends of Bilbrook Annual Bat Walk. Over 20 people attended which was the 2nd walk we have organised. The walk which was lead by bat expert Shaun from the Staffordshire Bat Group. Whilst walking around the Jubilee Wood and drawing on his encyclopedic knowledge, Shaun informed the group about all aspects of bats and the different types of bats which live in the UK, including their feeding habits and places you are likely to find them.
Our own Jubilee Wood is host to 3 different species including common and soprano pipistrelle and noctule bats. There seemed to more bats flying than during last year’s walk and hopefully that is an endorsement of the work we have done to create a habitat for all creatures, great and small.
