On a sunny Saturday morning on 12th May 2018, another scything course was held by Jeremy Hastings of the Wildwood Wisdom Co-operative. This is the second course which Jeremy has taught in the jubilee Wood, the first being when we cut the Wild flower meadow last year. With 3 new students to teach, Jeremy soon had them swinging their hips, getting into a good rhythm and cutting the long grass.
The Friends of BIlbrook now cut the wildflower meadow by hand using the traditional method scything not only which is good exercise but also better for the environment, nature and continuing the longevity of the wild flowers.
